What is OMON Accounting?
OMON Accounting is an online accounting system that provides a dedicated accounting workspace for each licensed business. It is used to record transactions, manage customers and suppliers, track inventory and assets (when applicable), run payroll (if used), and generate financial reports such as Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet.
How access works
- Access is through a web browser using the OMON login page.
- Each licensed business is provided as a separate business workspace.
- Users only see the business workspace(s) they have been assigned access to.
Businesses and business workspaces
In OMON, a business workspace is the accounting file/environment for one business. It contains that business’s chart of accounts, customers, suppliers, transactions, reports, and settings.
- One license = one business workspace (unless a plan explicitly includes more).
- When a license is activated, the business workspace is created and access is assigned to the authorized user(s).
- If multiple workspaces are assigned to the same user, they will appear as a list after login.
What users can do inside a business workspace
Once inside a business workspace, typical work includes:
- Set up: Business Details, Financial Year, Currency, Chart of Accounts, Starting Balances
- Daily work: Receipts, Payments, Sales Invoices, Purchase Invoices, Journal Entries
- Operations (if used): Inventory, Fixed Assets, Payroll
- Reporting: Summary, Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and other reports
User access and permissions
Access control is designed to allow delegation while protecting sensitive data.
- Administrator users have broad access to the assigned business workspace, including configuration and permissions (depending on role).
- Restricted users can be limited to specific areas (for example: Sales only, Banking only, Reports only).
- Permissions are configured per business workspace to match responsibilities.
Data protection and backups
- Business data is protected through automated system backups.
- Additional manual backups may be created when required (for example: before major configuration changes).
Performance and file size
Over time, as transactions and records increase, the workspace data can grow. Periodic housekeeping may be used to keep performance consistent (for example: reducing unnecessary file bloat after large volumes of edits).
Troubleshooting notes
- If a business workspace does not open or behaves unexpectedly, the most common causes are permission limitations, browser/session issues, or data integrity problems.
- If an error mentions version compatibility or database integrity, it requires administrative attention.
License note
OMON Accounting access is provided under an active OMON Business License. License purchase, renewal, and upgrades are managed through the OMON client portal.
Need clarification?
If a result does not match what is described:
- Re-check each step carefully and confirm the correct date and account were selected.
- Confirm the transaction was saved successfully and appears in the relevant list/report.
- Confirm the financial period is correct and not restricted by a lock date.
If the issue persists, log in to the client portal and open a support ticket, including:
- A screenshot of the current screen
- The transaction name/reference (or report name)
- The exact step where the difference occurred
